"Certified for" comes from the certifier's own listing for that exact model code, not from the box or the Amazon page. Per year = 2 filters, because LG says to change it every 6 months. Prices as of October 20, 2026 at 2:01 PM ET. Certification listings checked October 13, 2026.

Taste-and-odor-only filters (NSF/ANSI 42) are fine if your water is safe and you only want it to taste better. They are not tested for lead or cysts. If you are not sure what is in your water, look up your water system.
Look at the model code, not the brand
Waterdrop sells its LT1000P copy in versions that look the same. NSF lists the plain WD-F46 for taste and odor only. It lists the Waterdrop Plus WDP-F46 for lead, cysts and traces of medicines too. Amazon Basics, AQUA CREST, Maxblue and Filterlogic do the same thing with their own codes.
The code is in the Amazon listing's details (model or part number) and on the filter's label. Check it before you buy.
On October 13, 2026, Amazon's top 8 results for "LG LT1000P water filter" held 5 copies. None of them had a lead certification we could confirm.
About the LG filter
LG's Amazon listing says the LT1000P is certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401. We searched NSF, IAPMO and WQA on October 13, 2026 by every LT1000P part number and found no listing for it. NSF does list two older LG fridge filters (LT600P and LT800P). A listing under another company name is possible; we did not find one.
Most copies are sold as LT1000PC. LT1000P, LT1000PC, LT1000PCS, ADQ747935 and MDJ64844601 are the same LG filter.
Popular copies we could not confirm
- Amazon Basics LT1000P replacement: Amazon's listing uses EFF-6046-3-S, which is not an NSF element code. NSF's '-S' Amazon Basics version is the taste-only one, but we cannot confirm which version ships, so we show no button.
- ICEPURE RWF4700AC: No NSF, IAPMO or WQA listing found for RWF4700AC.
- PUREPLUS RWF4700AC: No NSF, IAPMO or WQA listing found for RWF4700AC.
- Molifal MO002: No NSF, IAPMO or WQA listing found for MO002.
A seller's "NSF certified" or "tested to NSF standards" line is not a listing. We count a filter as certified only when the certifier lists that exact model code.
Questions people ask
Is a Waterdrop filter as good as the LG LT1000P?
It depends on which Waterdrop. NSF lists the Waterdrop Plus WDP-F46 for lead, cysts and traces of medicines (NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401), the same three standards LG names on its box. The regular Waterdrop WD-F46 is listed for taste and odor only.
What is the difference between Waterdrop and Waterdrop Plus?
Certification. Both fit the same fridges and are made by the same factory. NSF lists the plain Waterdrop (WD-F46) only for chlorine, taste and odor. Waterdrop Plus (WDP-F46) is also listed for lead, cysts, mercury and six traces of medicines and plastics.
Is LT1000PC the same as LT1000P?
Yes. LT1000P, LT1000PC, LT1000PCS, ADQ747935 and MDJ64844601 are part numbers for the same LG filter. Copies are usually labeled LT1000PC.
How often should I change the LT1000P?
LG rates it for 6 months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first. That is 2 filters a year.
Is the LG LT1000P certified?
LG's Amazon listing says NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401. We searched NSF, IAPMO and WQA on October 13, 2026 and found no listing for the LT1000P under any of its part numbers. That does not mean it fails; it means we could not confirm it.

- Amazon listings and prices: read through Amazon's product API. We match each listing to the certified model code using Amazon's model and part fields. We show a price only if we read it in the last 24 hours.
- We did not: test any filter, test whether chipped copies work in a fridge, or check every copy sold. Certification covers the model code the certifier lists, for its rated gallons.
